Connor Associates President Mike Connor welcomes 15-year admission veteran Sarah McDonough to the team. Mike first met Sarah when Connor Associates was working with Wakefield School in Virginia several years ago.
Sarah brings a wealth of experience in all facets of school life.
Most recently she spent 10 years as the Director of Admission & Financial Aid at Wakefield School in The Plains, VA. During her time at Wakefield the enrollment in the Upper School grew to its largest enrollment ever, diversity throughout the school reached its all-time high, and access to the School was increased through the strategic use of financial aid.
Sarah has been a regular presenter at national conferences including the National Association of Independent Schools and the Secondary Schools Admission Test Board annual conference. During her time as Admission Director, Sarah placed emphasis on the development of personal relationships in achieving enrollment success. Time spent developing relationships within the school community and within the greater community were key to growing the enrollment and diversity at Wakefield.
Prior to Wakefield, Sarah worked as a Development Officer at Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island, and as teacher, dorm parent, and Director of Outdoor Education at Hebron Academy in Maine. Throughout her career Sarah has continued to teach science as needed and coach cross country - leading the Wakefield School girls to a third place finish in Virginia.
Sarah resides in Delaplane, Virginia with her son and their 2 dogs, 2 horses, and 2 cats.
