Georgetown Day School Partners with Connor Associates

Connor Associates Strategic Services, LLC (CA) has been retained to conduct Enrollment Feasibility and Five-Year Forecasting Research for Georgetown Day School, an independent, coeducational, private day school serving students from PK through 12th grade in Washington, DC.

Georgetown Day School (GDS) was founded in 1945 by seven families who sought to create a school committed to academic excellence, educational innovation, and social justice. The founders believed diverse learning environments are academically superior and allow students to enter the world with a rich appreciation of and respect for others. More than 70 years later, GDS continues to honor the integrity and worth of each individual within a diverse school community.

GDS is dedicated to providing a supportive educational atmosphere in which teachers challenge the intellectual, creative, and physical abilities of students and foster strength of character and concern for social justice. 

Head of School Russell Shaw shared, “We know that we are not merely preparing students for the next phase of their academic careers, we are preparing our students to be healthy 35-year-olds who are fully engaged in the world. We know that in addition to learning how to read deeply, compute proficiently, and write well, our students must also learn how to collaborate in diverse environments if they are to solve the complex challenges of our 21st century.”

GDS has the lowest student to faculty ratio in its peer school group, one of the most diverse student populations in the city, and a rigorous academic program that earns recognition nationwide.

It is in the time that teachers can devote to individual students that encourages students’ innate curiosity and challenges them to think on their feet.

It is the diverse student population that encourages children to learn how to work together, collaborate across differences, and engage with the world. And it is in the innovative academic programs that GDS provides students with the skills to change the world.

Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, Barbara Eghan, said, “We look forward to partnering with Connor Associates on this strategic initiative to explore enrollment opportunities for GDS today and five years from now. Through this study we will be able to identify and connect with prospective families who share our same values and goals, now and into the future.
